The purpose of the Swedish Cultural Society of Cleveland is to promote Swedish culture among the inhabitants of the greater Cleveland Ohio area.

Membership in this Society may be granted to any person of good character and reputation who approves of the aims of the Society and is willing to support its program and activities.

This Society is meeting in January, March or April, May, June, September, October and December.  It is preferred that these meetings be held in the homes of members, on the third Saturday of the month to conduct organization business and enjoy a variety of cultural presentations. A different place or venue than a member’s home can also be the site for a meeting.

A June meeting shall be held at a convenient date to celebrate mid-summer, out-of-doors whenever possible.

On Leif Ericson Day October 9^th the Society will participate in the celebration together with the Danish and Norwegian organizations.      

A December meeting shall be held on a convenient date for the celebration of Lucia and preparation for the Christmas season.

Members are encouraged to actively support the activities of the Society by:

• Attending the meetings when possible. Members are always requested to confirm to the secretary, or the host of each meeting, if they will attend or not.
• Occasionally hosting a meeting or co-host with another member.
• Suggesting programs and activities.
• Presenting a program of interest to the members – after coordination with the VP, Program.
• Accepting service as an Officer if so asked and elected.

The annual dues, currently, are $25 per person. 

Dues are to be paid to the Treasurer no later than by the end of January.
